Week 4 Blog

How I completed each assignment and what terms worked best:
First I need to say wow, school is definitely getting more challenging.
-How I know Part 1
Obviously like all the rest of you this assignment had specific instructions. Google the words origin word canuck, so guess what? I did just that. I then got a list of websites that had many different thoughts on where and how there definition of the origin of the word was correct. After reading over many of these websites I came to a conclusion of the one that I thought was correct. It was the one that came up most frequently and had the most reasonable meaning.

-How I know Part 2
This was just basically of my own knowledge. I didn't find this part of the assignment to be challenging but rather interesting to just sit and think about. It brought to mind many what ifs. I kept thinking what life would be like if we were all taught the same things in all the same ways. VERY INTERESTING!!!!

-The Research Plan
Wow wow wow
I did a lot of researching online and this one is kind of just what I new I wanted to include in my final project. I got a sort of feeling of accomplishment from this assignment knowing that I have taken a step in the direction of our final project. I did learn a lot from this assignment one major thing being more key terms.

-Selecting Information Sources
To me this one seemed to be a lot like the Research Plan. I found myself thinking of the same answers to some of the same but different questions that were asked on the two assignments. I did this assignment in a hurry and should not have but ran into some very helpful information.

Part 2 Application to my life
-I did run into some problems but not too many. I don't think that they were related to the assignment its self just with my life and the fact that this weeks assignments seemed to be more time consuming.

-Time and stress management issues
I almost quit.....I am not a quitter but I got extremely frustrated and stressed this week. I hope that next week will be a lot better for me .......I have changed my plan on time management and I am going to experiment a little until this is taken care of....Thank you all for reading ....Good luck and P.S. Week 3 Blog

This weeks assignments were both fun and challenging. The academic library visit assignment should not have been as hard as it was. The library I visited was full of unhelpful people. I felt so out of place and weird because of the way these people were treating me. I learned a lot this week though. I had no idea how much there was to know about the library and I learned about all sorts of materials that are available even in a public library. I now know more about how to research a certain topic also. I look forward to next week and what it has in store to teach me. I am seriously having fun with this class.

Week 2 Journal Entry

First about how I completed each of my assignments. The Acedemic Library Services assignment was what I would call a very unsuccessful assignment. Ordering and receiving items through the mail are not an option. My topic ideas assignment I used the web and thought about the ideas and other parts of the assignment on my own.
My propsal assignment was my favorite. I was just happy to be deciding finally. I used encyclopedia.com and some personal knowledge to complete this assignment. Last but not least the Web for Research assignment, I used the given web addresses to complete this.
I have found that the terms that work best when researching my topic is that I need to to include the word "wind" in my search. If I put in Global Energy I get many different types.

I really enjoyed the assignments this week. I am very happy to finally be getting started. I look forward to the up coming weeks when I will research more and learn more about my topic. I didn't run into too many problems worth talking about but wasn't very happy to hear that ordering books from my school library wasn't an option. I guess there are always public libraries. Yay I did it!

So this is my first post to let you all know that I did it. I think that this blogging thing is a neat idea for the class. Can't wait to see how creative everyone else was. Bye for now!!
